Profile

I am an aspiring web designer who is looking for junior level position to start his career in Web design.
I have designed and built several sites using Dreamweaver, CSS, XHTML, Photoshop, Fireworks and PHP. I have also used Joomla and Javascript. I have set up a server on my computer using XAMPP and Apache to work with PHP and set up MySQL databases. I am continuing to teach myself PHP, MySQL and Javascript.

GlaxoSmithKline. Sep 2001 to Nov 2008.

Key Roles:

  • Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry.
  • Supervisor to 5 work experience students and 1 summer student.

Major Achievements:

  • Worked in the Neurosciences CEDD as part of the team that delivered a candidate quality molecule for candidate selection September 2007.
  • Analysed the Structure Activity Relationship (SAR) of several series to identify and synthesise novel compounds which resulted in my name being included on a patent.
  • Lead Chemist on several series which made important synthetic and medicinal chemistry contributions to the project.
  • Completely redesigned and maintained the project Isis database incorporating all new screens and relevant data for ease of use and view by team members. This also includes updating the Kate tables via Balto. I also redesigned and maintained two other databases for previous projects.

 

WTW Cinemas. July - September 1998

Concession supervisor.

I was promoted to concession supervisor soon after the new cinema opened. I was responsible for supervising the shift staff on the concession stand, and also performing stock taking and re-ordering. I was also responsible for keeping the foyer clean and presentable. I learned to interact with team members and customers, providing them with a quality service.

In this role I learnt to first interact with customers and with other colleagues in the store.

Jitsu, snowboarding, cooking, football. I have completed several sporting events for charity including the London to Brighton Bike ride and 10K races for Cancer Research UK.
